John Bailey guitar (1970) |

The
owner of this interesting guitar writes:
"I have a couple of letters from John Bailey confirming the identity of the instrument. It was built for me in 1970 and was exhibited at a guitar exhibition in Olympia before I took possession of it. I played it regularly in Leeds during the 70s and mid 80s before professional and family commitments really took over my life. The instrument was refinished last year as I had planned to start using it again. The french polish that Steve Phillips had put on the soundboard seemed to be wearing off and I decided it was too delicate for public excursions. I think the back and sides are brazilian rosewood but I cannot be 100% sure. The guitar is very unusual, in mint
condition and has had one proud owner from new. The guitar isn't played as
much as it should be and I hope a new caring owner can be found for it." |
